You ever pick up a book and think it's a young adult fantasy and then find out that it's actually xxx? How the heck did this go from light and fluffy to their brother suddenly having sex with sirens in front of them! 😳 eeeewh again.

It's just so many shades of no nononono

Hey author - way to teach young women who read this book that men acting like assholes is okay.

This just in!: turns out the maid servant is actually married and her husband is okay with it because she is in service to the prince. Also the prince's brother is the one who suggested the arrangement because he also gets to do what he wants with her.

What is this book turning into?

What the heck? All of a sudden our good prince turns out to be shagging his maid servant to "sate his need" the whole time he's bemoaning the fact that he can't have the love of his life and thinking about her in the middle of it. Never occurred to him that his 'maid' might have feelings after being childhood friends and being in servitude to him for literally thousands of years. Just eeeewh.

This was all going relatively well and interesting until the classic let's all go stupid for plotted bouncement #misunderstandingswitcharoo

It might not be a spoiler because I don't actually know yet - but I'm pretty damn sure the fact that they have a captive princess who has the power to manipulate matter and a romantic meetup seemingly gone wrong till she suddenly shows up and doesn't speak - what are the odds?
