First story 4/5. “What if” will ruin everything!!

Hello, thank you, everything’s fine is so weird. And sad. I’m still not sure I get the ending, but I think I do- it’s just an upsetting situation and conclusion that leaves you feeling empty

Bath towel visuals was weird. I’m not sure I liked the way it was written but it was easy to read. I don’t know the point. Comfort in disappearing- being a ghost. 995 messages from a “partner”. And the brother/his friend being controversial as “funny”

I understand Shiraki's sentiment at the end of wanting to free Nanamori and Mugito of their niceness (she doesn't talk to stuffed animals). They are always looking out for others, are sentimental, but to a degree where they are overthinking things and that can be frustrating. I like the sentiments of this story a lot- it's relatable, but it's also incredibly annoying.

You can't force others to change societal constructs that they fit into and work for them- you can speak about it, change your own life, and talk to any partners/friends about "expectations". You can't change others for what works for them- especially if they are already happy.

There is a certain point when you just need to have a conversation with someone. Being sensitive is good, but when it disrupts and is actively hurting friends- you should have a conversation; you can still be 'sensitive' and respectful but you also need to express your own feelings and struggles.

While relatable and the sentiment is sweet- it's arrogant and self centered of Nanamori to think that he should be the one to put a stop to all the sexual harassment comments. Like he's some kind of martyr. And while I also hate to think in such a gendered way- that type of sentiment has pretty exclusively come from men.

Nanamori is really sensitive and really considers how he affects other people- and whether or not his actions are self-serving. While I can't relate to him entirely, I do tend to overthink when it comes to communicating with friends.

I find Nanamori's struggles quite relatable; finding it hard to differentiate between platonic and romantic love- and the struggle of gender constructs in society.
Why can't people just be people? but I can also understand that gender is still really important to others- so it's more like- why can't we all be respectful of other's identification?
