Status Updates From Hot Pink

How many times does Chloe have to mention how easy it is to be cool and objective about other people’s problems?

She fell asleep for maybe an hour before Colin called. Not “half a night.”

So…Chloe took a long, hot shower, sat down to watch tv, and got to a bar in the time it took Rocco to start driving Amy home and turn around when they hadn’t even gotten to her parent’s house?!?

“That little white lie again, but he’s been praying a lot.” What does one have to do with the other?

Who tf is Barry?

2 small bags of chips with 3 in each = 6 chips to wash down with a Coke, not 3. And where did the ice cream bar come in?

How does Amy know Chloe and where she lives/works? This book is really irritating. Seems amateurishly written.

Chloe’s aunt Grace doesn’t even know who Rocco is…so why does she act like she does when they are discussing Amy?

“They stood in the shadowed interior…”. Yet Rocco is still carrying Chloe. On the very next page, he “gently lowered her onto the workbench.”

Ok so Rocco is basically raping Chloe here?!?!

It keeps changing the characters in first person just whenever and it’s kind of driving me crazy. Cop out for an easy way to write in my opinion.

That’s actually 2 decisions.

On page 3 they are making a big deal about Chloe’s pink hair. On page 16, she tells Rocco that “it’s not pink.” 🤨
Also the swapping between character points of view starting on page 10 is kind of aggravating.
