A sweet and sad little story - so maybe I am a sucker for a HEA or at least a HFN but to my but to my horror and dissatisfaction, the author has refused. Everything would have been possible, certain death or a glimmer of hope up to a miraculous healing.
Just the last sentence: Then there was nothing. ...and then there were only three stars and then nothing!
