Read Chapter 3: The Yoga of Action. Lot of stuff I like here. Similar to the Epictetus but I bet that everyone will try ti avoid those similarities in class.

Read Chapter 2: The Practice of Yoga. Interesting reading this part given how I'm going to be an infantry officer. Also I can tell from discussion this morning that Dr. Rothletter does NOT like the military. Her knowing that I do NROTC might fuck me over. I do not like the idea of reincarnation making killing morally fine though. Why is no one willing to be critical of this text the same way they were with others?

Read Chapter 1: Arjuna’s Despair. Nothing crazy, & already discussed this in class. It’s interesting how no one brought up the caste stuff that the narrator talked at length about.

Read the translation notes. Whatever. We have to read this for honours class.

Read the introduction. Decent intro but it’s mostly excerpts from the book instead of actual commentary.

I listened to the Audible version of the Bhagavad Gita 5 years ago, beneath the stars in Brecon. Then, I understood little of it, falling asleep a couple of times through the night. Now, after two years of Jungian studies with a focus on Jung’s engagement with Eastern thought, I return to the text as an old friend, not a distant, impenetrable myth but a profound mirror to the inner landscape of the Self.
