So far it’s a step back in my opinion. The protagonist is the lovable loser type which is fine but Loyd is more on the loser side than lovable for me. If you need character progression to happen at a fast rate you won’t enjoy. For me though it seems to be character REGRESSION. A good chunk of the first few chapters is Loyd deciding if he wants to quit or not over and over
