This is pretty boring.

Well, 3 yrs later, and one tragic accident, and I am making progress on this story again. Boy is it dry. I wish Wallis had taken a public memory approach to Billy the Kid since how the public remembers him is where most of the facts lie. Whatever, extra context for national happenings is fine.

Could be a shorter novel if the author actually wrote about Billy and not have long sections not about Billy.
makes it hard to read. I want to know about Billy not the history/people around the time period.
