Wondering if this book gets any better. Seems like mostly filler so far (80+ pages). I also question his claim that Edgar Allan Poe died of tuberculosis. Poe's cause of death has never been confirmed, and while I've read numerous theories about the possible cause, tuberculosis has never come up as one of them.

Well, 3 yrs later, and one tragic accident, and I am making progress on this story again. Boy is it dry. I wish Wallis had taken a public memory approach to Billy the Kid since how the public remembers him is where most of the facts lie. Whatever, extra context for national happenings is fine.
