Status Updates From Resident Evil 7: Biohazard ...

The pictures and storyboards were beautiful. The book was written like we’re too stupid to understand certain concepts. And it is obviously very biased on RE7 at times and feels like it was written by a bootlicker. An okay book, though I’d be pissed if I bought it.

The book is good but my eyes were glazing when it came to the RE engine and other dev stuff. I love videogames but those sections went on too long. The concept art is beautiful but the book is vague when discussing specific stuff in the game. I don’t know when this was published, so it may have been to avoid spoilers. But still, release the book after the game comes out then.

The book is good and I love the concept art. They praise the leaders of the dev team a lot and after a while it feels like all the author does is gush about them. I was hoping for more info on the RE7 concepts that were dropped before they picked the Baker incident.

I'm not criticizing the devs for making story a secondary concern, as it does make sense for the game, but it also............explains a lot lol

Not slamming the writer, but the fact that they HAVE to address the assumption that four years is too long a time to make something just goes to show how little people know about how long creating things takes.
