So why on earth would I need colleagues who tell me something I already know? It’s difficult? I know that, all the time. The only people I really want to work with are those who offer solutions, especially to the hardest problems.

Because of that, a large part of what keeps Homo sapiens busy is trying to reduce the processing burden on the brain. It’s perhaps a sad insight, but I believe that from the biological standpoint, we’d essentially prefer to think less than we do!

When he hired me, he explained, “I’ll just say stuff, then you need to make that stuff happen.” which was exactly how it had worked.
