May need to switch to a different format. I’m not absorbing most of this on audiobook.

Was about to DNF and maybe try again in a different format because the philosophy is challenging for me to follow on audio, but then he mentioned interpassivity. OKAY, MARC, I’M BACK.

I think he has some confirmation bias in his observations, and that they are coloured by his own mental health issues. I also think his takes on ADHD and dyslexia have aged like milk in light of modern research. Plenty of kids are diagnosed before they even have access to a screen and plenty of them prefer reading or daydreaming over screens so I hardly think one can make screens responsible for the disease

I think many of his statements about the British youth rely on his own observations of his students, which is not a representative sample as that kind of college is primarily attended by students from underprivileged backgrounds or students with mental health problems and learning disabilities, which would predispose them to display the traits he describes at a higher rate than wider society, yet he extrapolates

I don’t like the style of writing. I think he uses too many unnecessary allusions and over complicated language to make himself sound more sophisticated when by nature of his argument he should be making the work accessible to those not privileged to share his level of education.
