I had to put this down for a while because of the near death of my cousing and the unexpected death of a close friend. Hussin Alkheder's descriptions of grief are just too vivid for the state of mine I was in. He is a very good writer.

I am convinced that the scriptwriters on Gladiator II used this book for reference. Just an observation.

By the way, this is really really good. Lots of politics. Lots of gray characters. Very Grimdark. And it is a history!
