Status Updates From Abolition Geography: Essays...

Palate cleanser for all the fiction books I’ve been reading and a reminder of how much I loved radical geographies in fourth year. It’s an attempt to regain that part of me that wanted to be challenged and to then use that new knowledge to challenge the world. I want to feel inspired and motivated for change again. I hope this can help find a little bit of that fire that’s gone out in the last few years.

only read the introduction so far but i have a reaaaaaalllly good feeling about this one

Part one was interesting but very focused on the role of academic scholarship in bringing liberation (a topic I find circular but still necessary) rather than critiquing prison industrial complex specifically. Everything is connected so of course it’s relevant, but maybe not the best choice for an opening section. Hopefully I’ll understand her decision by the end.
