“We are normal people,” he said, enunciating every word. “We’re just not human people.”
That is the best explanation I've ever read.🙂

But he's not a "motorhead". Why is she trying so hard to box him in when she has learned so many things about him that says the "motorhead" description doesn't fit him?

They just go popping up out of nowhere, why aren't they afraid of a human seeing them?

His dark-blond hair was shaved on the sides with the center section tied up in a knot . He had a killer goatee, and one side of his head was tattooed with some kind of Celtic symbol. But more than any of this, what she noticed were his ice-blue eyes that were totally and unapologetically sizing her up.
Um, yes please

The woman was coming Knox's way and the scent of her blood--sweet and wild and downright tantalizing--narrowed his focus and tuned everything else out. He sucked in a breath, then swiveled around on his stool to face her.
“Wrong way, sweethear—”
The words died on his tongue. Here was the incarnation of his dreams, come to torment him. Because—when it came to his f***ed-up life—the hits, they had to keep on coming.

Coming in January!
Knox Boyd took a swig of strong, black coffee and swished it around like mouthwash before spitting it into the kitchen sink. The sour taste of the woman’s blood was hard to get rid of—but he supposed it was as much as he deserved. A quality woman was beyond his grasp. He’d come to terms with that more than a century ago.

Writing in progress.
The woman’s footsteps were coming closer and her scent… Sweet, wild and…familiar… Knox swiveled around on his stool. “Wrong way, sweethear—” His words died on his tongue.
“Knox,” his boss said, “this is Blaire Darby. Blaire, Knox Boyd.”
Fucking hell. It was like seeing a ghost—a bitter memory come back to torment him because, when it came to his f*cked-up life, the hits…they kept on coming.
