What kind of abortion clinic actually points out the baby during the ultrasound? Of course that's going to make the pregnant girl hysterical about getting rid of it! I'm pretty sure that's, you know, not how things are done.

What is with everyone saying "yip" instead of "yup" or "yeah"? If it's supposed to be some kind of Syn Island slang, it's really distracting.
Also, two grown-ass women have now thrown themselves at Alex. The 2nd one didn't know his age, but still, jeez, people! Does this kind of stuff actually happen to people? I know it serves to demonstrate his weird personality, but it's still really annoying.

It would be awesome if we got to see some of the poems he keeps writing. We even hear what they're about and everything, but we don't get to actually see the poems.

So the adult woman who the teenage boy hooks up with is being let off the hook? I wish he had turned into a wolf during the encounter and scared the crap out of her. She kinda deserved it. And that would have started a lot of insane conflict.

Finally, he's not 10 anymore. That whole part felt like it took forever. There were so many parts where I thought "the book could have just started here instead of earlier."

The book totally should have started with Alex Waking up in the hospital bed, instead of having all of the being rushed to the hospital. He could have just woken up and remembered the wolf attack.

I kind of feel that Alex and his family aren't properly mourning. They still seem pretty lighthearted, all things considered. Also, the repetitive nature is a bit annoying.
