Status Updates From False Light

It’s hard to tell how much of the commentary in this book is the opinion of the author or just the MC, but either way, I’m not enjoying reading it

The book is meant to be commentary on the displacement of white men in a post #metoo world, but is pretty tone deaf. The main character is a collage of masculine-hero stereotypes - Macgyver like bad-ass meets genius with superficial childhood hang ups (mean dad, dead mum, living in the shadow of a perfect best friend). All the women are depicted as either victims, vixens or vexatious bitches.
