Status Updates From Possession

Goodness, but this is an amazing book. The writing at once sends me to a dreamy, "thinkless" realm with the characters yet also demands special attention. It's like drifting down a lazy river with the characters, observing the story, the landscape of it all. There are 576 pages to this beautifully written novel. I could read an additional 576 more. Brilliant weaving of so many timelines, characters, and stories.

I just don't think I can finish this book. It was compared to The Secret History, and so I gave it a try. Maybe my 19-year-old self would have relished the arcane poetry, but it just feels melodramatic to my grown-up self.
