I guess I kept waiting for something to happen to remind me or justify why I “liked” this series the first time around.

It never happened. It prob never existed.

I hate literally every single character. The ending was pointless, let alone the long winded journey to get there.

I might even create a shelf for shit like this. It really deserves the award for shittiest book I’ve had the misfortune of reading.

I really didn’t change my mind at all. Except to question how stupid and idiotic my younger self had to have been to rate this so highly at three stars throughout.

The only part I remember and liked well enough, was the literal first pages(?) the dust bunnies and then her later burning that creep at the truck stop. Everything after that was shit. She didn’t change, grow, or improve. At all.

So I somehow ended up actually mostly rereading the entire series. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do I regret not walking away without looking back? Yes.
Has this experience changed my opinion? No.

If anything, rereading this utter shit just reaffirmed my initial reactions. It’s fitting that as I type this, I’m nauseous from frying oil scent in the air.

I’m done with this shit.

I barely skimmed the first and last pages of each book so far..which all ended with cringey sex scenes. Ugh

- I’m really hoping bad shit happens to them now and maybe I’ll DNF at that point if this doesn’t improve even slightly

- editing errors, so many.
- the weird writing style is off putting
- the dialogue is unbelievable and unnatural, even for fiction.
- the “quirkiness” of the characters and story details quickly became overdone and tiring to read.
- unable to connect or relate to any of these annoying bitches
- the lightning fast pace of the story, I feel nauseous like everything is happening too quickly AND TOO EASILY

This is a reread, although this time I’m reading the complete series. 🤷🏻‍♀️ don’t know how long ago I read this… I vaguely recall it not being terrible but clearly not good enough to keep in my memory or digital library.

And so far… it’s easy to see why.

I've been reading this for a few days, and I'm getting really irritated. The character is actually regressing! The first book, she seemed like an actually competent witch at times, and now it's like she's almost non-magical. Despite so many times the author "tells" us that this character is supposed to be such a good and super powerful witch, so many things happen that shouldn't because she doesn't act like one.
