Status Updates From Mister West

Picked this book up again to start reading and I'm still not connecting to the characters...their vibe, their dialogue...BLAH!

Maybe another day...with my limited time in reading these days, I don't want to devote my precious time to a story that I'm not feeling right away and have to force myself!

Yesssss - this is what I mean. Angst, jealousy(a little, but still) and depth. So far just wow.

All this fucking sounds so painful

This story is really starting to drag and it's annoying because there really is no reason the two characters shouldn't be together outside obstacles of their own making.

This story is annoying me. First off Mr. West is supposed to be this dark brooding rich guy but when he texts Ivy, he's all cute and flirty. Also it makes zero sense why Ivy is still with her dirt bag cheating bf. She's literally getting nothing out of the relationship. It doesn't even sound like there's any type of financial stability. So why is she with him? Independent living looks good on a bitch.

Their entire flirty (?) relationship happens via FB messenger. Idk super disappointed. RJ LEWIS is one of my favorite authors and there’s not one book by her that I’ve never not loved. I don’t know what to do with myself right now.

The heroine is too weak to leave the husband she’s separated from and only begins to do so when she starts an affair with Mr West. Their affair is superficial, based on looks, lust and desire.

I’m 35% through and nothing is happening and I don’t find the characters compelling. The characterization from the first chapter disappeared. Ivy stopped being trashy and sassy and somewhat loose looking. I dunno, I usually like RJ LEwis but this isn’t doing it for me. Maybe I’ll try again when I have more patience. Don’t feel much tension between the hero and heroin
