I purposefully let myself wonder whether Aidan is going to be alright or not. But knowing that he's the perspective character and there are almost 140 pages left, my bet is he's only getting some injuries temporarily. Or maybe longer lasting scars. That would be cool

I'd read the last 80(ish) pages right now, but it's almost 2am here and I fear I won't be able to process things well enough.

The easiest way to trigger anyone who's read this book is G o n e .

I can't shake the feeling that Grey or Killian, or both, have more to them than what meets the eye.

The story is getting juicier, but unfortunately means that the characters have been force-fed more trauma.

The book got really sweet and wholesome, which feels like the calm before a storm. I would have read more, but I need time to mentally prepare for what all the pain I'm sure is coming up ahead.

Cassia strikes me as a very, very dislikable character, but I have a slight, lingering feeling that she just might mean well for the guild in the long run

The characters are really coming into their own now, aong with the magic system. Everything's (almost suspiciously) wholesome. Especially Rayne, and the hints of romance between Aidan and Alice.

Damien, Elaine, Alice and Aidan have such a cozy, comfort-filled relationship.

Sure hope nothing happens to them. (I'm genuinely terrified)

Even grief—even that is very beautifully written in this book. 💛

I could 100% empathise with Aidan finding it hard to stay awake next to a good book–
This is the "books still have a bedtime story effect on us" gang.

I'm at a loss of words. Just pure feelings. Of admiration amidst tears. (TL;DR–I've reached the point where it's started growing dark.)

I'm now not only in love with the Shadeborn characters, but also with their beasts 👀❤️❤️
