Big win at the used bookstore this weekend because I got this book for $12. I have been reading the library copy, but I have a feeling I’ll need this for the dissertation. I’m halfway through and I’m finally to the founding of the JBS. Welch hated the UN, but loved his wife.

Skipped two chapters because this is a biography after all and I can’t read more about mid-1950s foreign policy.
This book has now twice discussed Robert Welch receiving “the Kettle Award” in 1947 and to clarify its importance, Miller refers to it as “the candy industry’s Oscars.” I’m sure it is not.
Also, did you know Robert Welch invented the Sugar Daddies candy and Junior Mints? Crazy.
