Enough time has passed. I've been putting this off for a while, because we don't have a date for the next book, but I want/need to be up to date.

That emptiness throbbed inside him, begging for it already as he licked his name from Malcolm’s lips, tasted hints of himself there, bit back a moan when it was almost embarrassing, how easily Malcolm could wring such unrestrained sounds from him at the smallest thing.

“You,” Seong-Jae said from the passenger’s seat, “are brooding.”
Malcolm smiled dryly. “I’m not brooding, I’m overthinking. There’s a difference.”
“I shall allow it. You will ruin my aura as the broody, menacing shadow trailing in your wake, if you continue to adopt my sullen attitude.”(…)

These two are so in love that I can't handle it... 26 books later, this bond, this relationship is something transcendental... it's something that warms me 🥹

Oh omr how I missed you… I know I will suffer by reading an unfinished series… but I needed some Malcom & Seong-Jae in my life 🖤

Only this series can pull off the “it’s a third of the way through the book and the main characters haven’t yet been introduced to the mystery” thing.

I have been tortured enough by Mr McCade to know the revelation in this book will likely be the last line of the book, if at all. Nobody has honed the sadism of a cliffhanger as much as him.

I'm going to put this thought out in the world: even if biologically this does not pan out, which I really don't think it is where this is going, since McCade, for all that puts his characters through horrible things, does not wallow in trauma porn, but if it were to not pan out, I even think it would be a stronger victory to overcome and decide to keep regardless.

I am so happy to be back in Baltimore, where all we need to worry about is petty murder, drug dealers and corrupt politicians.

The way it hits the real world emotions is uncannily honest
