Status Updates From Bitch

Cooke is thorough in her research, interviews, and writing. Bitch: On the Female of the Species is climbing to the top of my list of favorite, most-recommended books—not just for women interested in science (and animals), but for men too, prompting a more critical eye toward the “handed-down-by-god” evolutionary theories that have too often been treated as immutable truth, reinforcing deeply ingrained biases.

Thank god for British women

I was loving this book until Cooke started adding side comments about God in a book about biology, stating that God can't exist because science and evolution does, something I adamantly disagree with.
I was going to say, crankily, leave it out, it detracts from the book, but perhaps it only detracts from my reading of it. If it had a message that supported my beliefs I don't know that I would be so salty about it.
