Good memoir, interesting stories. But 2 problems with the first 2 recipes. Whole strawberries with a sprinkle of sugar on top, mashed with a fork. Seriously?. Loved the family story, but this is a bit contrived. 2nd, the jam making. As a jam maker myself, do the research. USDA guidelines! Her recipe =Botulism!

I was wondering about putting a cook book 📖 on here but then I decided that I read the book for 2 hours this morning! And learned a lot about baking and about Valery Lomas’ incredible journey. And her chocolate cake is being baked for me right now by my teen!!!
