I really like the premise. Martyr like MFC—which gets a little much. The word “orphanage” is used WAY too much. I don’t think I ever heard it this much before within my entire life combined. Narrator was dragging a bit. Kind of reminded me of a news broadcaster. Had to speed up to 1.5 just to make it a little, ore peppy

The writing is so weird for me lol. I’m getting all itchy… nah-uh. Too much explanation too fast and too sudden. Feeling like a tv series episode where the narrator is telling the whole story before anything actually happens. Don’t tell me, show me. Huff… maybe another time. The story is not bad, mind you. So I’ll definitely come back to finish. Just… not today.

She blinked rapidly at the assault on her senses as her eyes struggled to adjust. Her gaze landed on her Triad, all three kneeling around her, reaching for her. She sucked in a breath as she met their blue, green, and gold gazes, looking at them in color for the very first time.
She could see.

Apparently eating all of the bindings it could, the magic settled at her center again.
“Claire,” Desmond said softly.
She lifted her gaze, noting a glow fading around her like her magic had thrown up a protection dome without her telling it to.

Claire let out a breath of relief that quickly caught as she realized the new problem. Her magic retreated from the daggers with a ferocity as it rushed back towards the dome of bindings over her center. It hit the dome with a vengeance, forcing Claire to her knees under the pressure as the magic ate at the bindings until the dome looked like a patchwork quilt.

If her magic exploded like that it would hurt her Triad again.

She didn’t recognize it but instinct told her this was Elven script. What was happening?
The Fae dagger at her hip heated unbearable and with a gasp she quickly grabbed it with her other hand. Magic shot out of her center through her hands into the daggers and they glowed. Claire panicked and called her magic back quickly, not wanting the same explosion to happen as the first time she grabbed the Fae dagger.
