- like, han in this book reflects on the fact that he “turns every conversation with princess leia into an argument” but then he’s like “ugh i don’t know why i was considering marrying her”?!?! HAN, PLEASE LOOK INWARD!!!

- also why is han solo kind of a dick in this? i mean, he kinda was in the movies, but in a cute, teasing way, and it helped that he was hot (young harrison ford is like the piece of caramel cheesecake that comes in a mini cheesecake sampler, in my opinion.)

- okay so there’s like 50 “star wars” original characters from the writers in this, but somehow princess leia and your girl me, the woman reading this, are the only female presence so far??? booooo.

- this is from 1991, so the people who wrote and illustrated it were a little bit short on content, i believe. it’s not as bad as the late 70s “star wars” comic book i own that was made before it was revealed luke and leia are twins. that comic book has a completely adorable vintage “juicy fruit” gum ad, though, but i digress.

This book is just as cheesy as the other ones, but this time the climax was rushed to hell even more so than before. No real arcs are given to the characters and everything is odd. Like a mix of Star Wars and Star Trek. Not great.

Zorba’s cameo was lame. Trioculus being “killed” was interesting. Ken breaking the Falcon was an odd move. The gang stumbling into Triclops and the researchers felt rushed, as did the battle for the relics. Hissa being disintegrated was fun. Will Triclops be an ally or enemy? Ken feels like a stand in for the authors.

Kadaan unofficially declaring himself the new ruler was surprisingly good. The abandoned transport with Imperial records was dumb. Ken starting school makes a lame sort of sense. So far not too outlandish but that will probably change.
