Emery is so damn mean to Kam. Third act breakup comes along but the whole book feels like a breakup, so at this point I think they should indeed leave each other alone.

My toxic trait is wanting to pair Emery with Val
from Caught in the Basilik’s Gaze. They deserve each other. In fact, I’d pay someone to write fanfic crossover of that happening. I hated Val so much lol

The author’s background in nursing is really coming to the fore in the beginning of this book. I would be freaking the f out if I had to do field surgery (or any surgery) on anyone.
