At the end of chapter 5 (The human life history), the authors write as if they've never heard of cognitive epidemiology. They mention the inverse correlation between socioeconomic position and adherence to public health messaging, but never mention IQ which predicts both.

Fairly heavy going so far. Fortunately I've seen a lot of these concepts in other books about evolution I've read. The writing style is unnecessarily ponderous; the authors or their editors should read and heed books on plain language such as the Oxford Guide to Plain English.
