Status Updates From Gossamer in the Darkness (F...

DNF approximately 100 pages in. This started out well, but it got very boring and OTT . I enjoyed the previous books in the series, but this wasn't a welcome addition.

I will say this: I appreciate how they got the whole "my dad is framing me" thing out of the way, so Loren didn't feel like she manipulated him. And whenever they actually communicated, it was great. Then Loren had his gloomy "I'm not good enough for her" moments which sucked, and there were the oh so (unnecessarily) long KA paragraphs describing whatever not, which I am not ashamed to say that I skimmed *shrug*.

Generally this was fun enough. It was nice being back in KAs parallel world, even if I also still think she's overdoing the way these heroines talks (it's too fantastical, if you will), as no one talks like that in the real world. Or at least not anyone I know. Loren also had his usual KA swoony moments right alongside his kinda demeaning moments, and there stupid pet names, but again, generally this was nice.

The drama at the end seemed a bit stupid if you ask me. Yes, I get that Loren learning the truth about Satrine being from another world would throw him off, and that he therefore thinks she wants to go home - but that's just it. He THINKS she wants to go home, he never asked her. So he did a one-eighty out of nowhere and didn't give her a chance to explain herself until SHE took initiative. Ugh, just stupid.

*sighs* I mean, who even talks like that? Not anyone I know, that's fore sure *rubs temples*

Holy scheisse, crisis averted! That was a close one. I had almost begun to lose hope that Loren would pull his head out of his ass before it would be too late. Thank god Satrine always speaks her mind and is a master at communication, because that speech forced him to share some of his truths as well. But damn that was close, and I would much rather they be in the wooing stage than "about to break up" stage.

Ugh so Loren's gonna be likes "she deserves better than me, but I won't tell her why" and Satrine's trying to find a way home without telling. Not much wooing, I see. Great ://

As expected Loren is pretty damned great (and delicioulsy posessive in a "touch her and die" kinda way), but what I thought the book was gonna be about (her acting as Maxine of the parallel world) just happened and the truth is out, so now I don't know what the rest of the book is gonna be about. Is it just gonna be Loren courting Satrine? Cuz I'd be down for that ;)

That’s quite the mouthfull and such a KA sentence, if you know what I mean.
