Status Updates From I’d Rather Have a Cat than ...

I'm not sure I will continue. It's a slow read and that's not the bad thing. It's just missing a thread which pulls the story along

So far it's pretty cute and funny. I do get annoyed with these intermission chapters. Like why are they not just bonus chapters at the end of the book if they are just filling up space.

Feels like I’m reading a rough draft that some scenes are out of place

I really must stop trying to read three or four books at once. There's no reason for this bit of fluff to be taking this long to read! I'll finish it up at lunchtime, then focus on one of the other ones.

There's no real reason to be reading this book so slowly, except that I'm reading a number of other things at the same time. It's light and cute, a nice change of pace from the denser and/or longer other things I have going.

An animal-loving girl is obliviously bumbling herself into a bunch of guys falling in love with her. Very cute!

It won't do me any good to squint at the setup of this one, i.e. that the isekai feels more like a trend-chase than something that really needs to be part of the story. (not the first time I've thought that with one of these!) Better to just enjoy the cute dynamics in the isekai-ed family, and anticipate meeting the huge fluffy cat we see on the cover. :)
