Status Updates From Beneath the Sand

Someone want to tell me how they got poinsettias (from Mexico) into Rome during the 1st-5th century? Still unsure of WHEN this is supposed to take place other than “ancient Roman times” (in which they named shops at the Forum “Hippo Crats” and “Sock-R-Tease”).

I’m a chapter away from DNF-ing my first book in the last 15 years.

You ever read a book that’s supposed to be set in Rome in the first (probably) century and the vocabulary of the characters feels too. . . modern?

I’m currently trying to read one like that. We’ll see. . .
