We also don't get to see a lot of the inner workings of the place or how the "wings" are designed. They are just mentioned at times with no real explanation. The idea too of the dragon choosing a new mate every 6 months is baffling to me and doesn't drive home the urgency for this first mating. Also the way the mating is originally explained makes it seem like its a forever thing

The book is good so far but its also slow going. I'm intrigued but I occasionally start to lose interest because of the pacing and the repetitiveness. There is not a lot of character growth and so its hard to really connect to anyone. The author also frequently refers to people as a title one time and then in the same sentence/paragraph refers to them by a different name and it gets a little confusing
