Status Updates From All Too Familiar: A Collect...

I finished Paula Lester's "Impurrfect Magic." It was ok, but I didn't really like the main character. She discovers pills in her dead uncle's cinnamon roll and instead of protecting it she leaves the building with her sketchy teen employee in charge? Author got names of businesses mixed up. Not sure I want to continue the series.

I finished "Familiar Unspelled." At first I didn't think I was going to like it, so I FF to the end. I liked the end so I read it backwards. Now I want to continue the series if I can.

I read the first 5 chapters of "Banshee, Vikings, and Voodoo" but did not finish. I didn't like the characters or the story line.

I finished Cats, Crime and Creme Brulee. It seems to have been the third or 4th book of a series. I had trouble figuring out how the characters related to one another. I also don't care for the constant kissing at inappropriate times and places. I liked the cats. The people, not so much!

I just finished "Broom Service" which was a light witchy romance. The main character and her best friend are supposed to be 29 and 27 but the seem more like 15 and 13. There's too much telling and not enough showing. Don't tell me somebody was telling a hysterical story. Show me them telling the story!

I finished the first book, Fur the Hex of it, and really liked it. I hope this is the beginning of a series.

Great start with the first book, but the following two novellas were written awful. My wife and I were taking turns reading to each other; we got the feeling that they were written by hormonal angsty cheerleaders. We punted it back to KU about halfway through the second novella.
