Hellhounds were notorious bounty hunters. Legend had it they were once special pets of demons, sent to drag d@mined humans to hell for their just reward. Hellhounds smelled like sulfur and death. When they were close, the hunted could hear the screams of the previous quarries of the hellhound in question. The noise was supposed to make it nearly impossible for prey to run for the fear they were feeling.

Alex could see his biceps were approximately the size of his head. If this man were to swat a fly with those huge hands, he would probably change weather patterns.

She didn’t even flinch when her sleeve caught fire. She didn’t have a mark on her. It was a perk of (SPOILER!) gnomedom - being impervious to flames made them that much better at their jobs.

Is that what this is going to be? A relationship?

If you’ll have me.

I think you know: I already have you.

We’re not jolly or cherubic in any way. We’re descendants of elemental creatures that predate most known folklore. My grandfather says our family was inspiration for how Hephaestus was depicted in Greek mythology.

I don’t know where stupid garden statues came from. probably d@mn goblins. It doesn’t even make sense: pointy hats super impractical when you live underground. beards aren’t exactly a plus when working with molten metal. shortest among us are 6 feet tall. We have superhuman strength & senses are more acute than any werecreature - have to be when spend most time in dark

He was so concerned about defending the town, he didn’t consider whether *Eva* might need defending.

You dug into my life without any provocation. It’s not my fault that you didn’t like what you found.

Well, people love food trucks.

Food trucks move around a lot. Sorta makes ranking them by zip code a pointless proposition.

She wondered how this dark-haired merman became the best friend she ever had. Jon was … reclusive and taciturn, until he found common ground with her then he practically drowned her in goodwill and friendship.

Once upon a time, he knew how to … replace a dead spark plug or even reattach a muffler with nothing but baling wire and happy thoughts.
