Lastly, I’m glad Raina finally admitted she could have let Chase finish college and raised the TEEN boys alone. DUH!! Thus has always been an issue for me. Made no freakin’ sense why/how she’d burden her first born with that responsibility, especially if it meant not finishing his education. I lost so much respect for her. More than I did with he controlling manipulating trickery. Asshole mom. Really, she is.

Also, this huge secret that could annihilate Michael’s political career in NOTHING! So he’s not the biological(or “real” as Sloan mistakenly calls Sam) father. Sooo many couples adopt and never reveal that truth. It’s a family decision. And how is it bad that he took in, loved and raised a kid who wasn’t even his flesh and blood!? Those are pros, not cons. I don’t get this author.

These stories are tedious. For the final book, I’m wondering if the author can do simple math. Sampson has been painted as this old man—an anti social curmudgeon. “A wisp of his white hair blew across his face” in the scene I just read. But he was finishing college when Jacquelyn got pregnant, and Sloan is only 23. He’s only around 45! That’s just 7 years older than Chase!!

I'm taking a break from the nonesense before finishing the last book. It gets really tough to wait for these cookie-cutter, cardboard stories to wrap up when you know the entire plot path and ending from the start.

This series of books is repetitive. Everyone has issues focused on others leaving. EVERYONE. Even Hannah, Kendall's bratty teenage sister. Are all parents in this series shitty? Also, these are very dated reads. The wire jewelry, Jettas, and Brittany Spears references are just two examples and I admit to cringing at these reminders. Also, the stories are so REPETITIVE!! Rinse and reapeat. BORING.

FInished book one, "The Bachelor". Not impressed. All of the parents are horrible, lying, manipulating characters who the author paints as sweet and well-meaning. I don't get it. The story is predictable and not very engaging. Even the panty thief plotline was predictable (once you meet the character you know it's them). This is a 2 or 3 star book at this point. Not terrible, but not at all memorable.

When Raina the mom and Eric comes home to find a half naked Alice in Roman’s bed, and Roman in his underwear, why do they instantly know she snuck into his room. Roman says nothing and yet they immediately understand the situation. That is so odd to me. What it looks like is that they interrupted an intimate moment (and Roman is playing it loose!), but no. They don’t even suspect that. STRANGE.
