finished the first story, hunger angel. a book on the perspectives of a broken family, with every member trying hard to believe that they can still love each other, when all they do seem to cause pain and hurt. it seems the narrator and her estranged brother might be the only people fully aware of the hopelessness and bleakness of their situation. i like how it was written in reverse chronology, a vertiginous read
