for a rh novella I’ll say this is pretty good, characters have personality not just names to tell them apart, and the story didn’t feel chucky.
but one thing that irks me is that they ignored her for years before this, like 14 years yk... I think this book would be even better if it was full length!

I thought the worst was over until two days ago when I got a call from Reston General,” Sawyer closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, I saw tears welling in them. “An ambulance brought Evie in. Someone worked her over and gave her a message to give to me."

He sits on the edge of the bed, making sure not to jostle me. He pulls me to him, holding my face gently and scoots towards me until my face is pressed against his chest.
“You’re safe, I have you,” he whispers to me softly.
