On Barriers to Emotional Acceptance:
"While [emotional] avoidance strategy starts off as self-protection, it is a costly strategy, because it causes us to mistrust our emotions and locks us out from the deep knowledge that our emotions reveal to us about our lives."
This so speaks to a recent therapy session on redefining what sharing my emotions in a "safe space" can look like as an adult. #healinglittleme
