i would love to compliment this book but it is suffering from the world’s worst case of “tell, don’t show”, and it comes to the detriment of the characters and the story. i largely share the author’s worldview, but the political metaphors are so heavy-handed they are basically not even metaphors anymore. this book is a non-fiction essay masquerading as urban fantasy, which is not what i wanted to read :/
