Laclau's examples of Christian emancipation and the problem of evil are wildly stimulating in this context, and there's this curious notion of an empty signifier that can signify the system as a totality

I am excited to be slowly working my way via a systematics towards the "necessity" of Lacanian universal antagonism. This is starting well.
