Let your child go to sleep knowing that they are valued, appreciated and loved.

Positive noticing needs to be regular. If it helps, aim for ten positive acknowledgements a day. Get some in early, before breakfast; a few after school; a couple before bed.

When you notice the good stuff and tell people about it, you change your child's thinking. Catching your child doing the right thing is so much more impactful than catching them doing the wrong thing.
Tell a child they are naughty, bad, chaotic, aggressive, difficult or trouble often enough and they won't just believe it, they will filter every single thought through it. Drip, drip, drip.

Agreements that are not written down are just wishes.
Do it with your child alongside you if you like, but don't allow your standards to be diluted; it is, after all, your house.

Adults who are incapable of communicating create chasms between them, allowing the child an unhealthy amount of space in which to play unregulated.
