Status Updates From A Book of Blades: Rogues in...

I just finished the first story by John C. Hocking, author of Conan And The Emerald Lotus and Conan And The Living Plague. Both of those novels are available in one edition called Conan: City Of The Dead, published by Titan Books. The short story in this book was enjoyable and well written. I will dip in and out of this book in between reading other books. I do like my fix of sword and sorcery.

A green mercenary, an introspective and grim reaper, debaucherous golems, a sorcerous warrior, and a quest I can't quite figure out. Some tales I don't get, others I wish were longer, and some are just right.

Brutal revenge and love lost. Proving your worth in a community that doesn't believe in you. Tribalism and camaraderie. Bugs and buggery. "Monsters" worse than monsters. So far, these quick tales generally bring the action.
