This would be higher if not for the fact that the trials leading to the end battle seemed to encompass more action along with taking up more of the plot than the end battle. Which is sort of annoying. I loved the character dynamics in this & it was nice getting a flushed out friend group. The epilogue itself gave me whip flash only bc they hinted at things we never got to see which I hate

this reread is probably the biggest “thank god, I’m doing this” moment due to the fact it helped iron out covet vs court plot. My biggest issue with this one in particular is that, even though grace has grown, there’s this ignorance remains to her. You would think by now her friends and mate would heavily educate her on the world at large, considering she’s supposed to rule?

Still honestly my favorite of the bunch but 2-4 of the series blended too much in my head so we’ll see. my biggest ick of this one was probably everything in the book took place little under 2 weeks. Hudson girly then and Hudson girly now so that’s never changing.

honestly a lot of this made me cringe way more than I had anticipated/remembered from the first time. I kept just wanting to get it over with just to get to crush. which is fine, I do adore the series over all. btw there was a continuous loop of the “pick me, choose me, love me” line from greys going on in my brain by the end. but the excitement for crush is unparalleled rn.
