A story called ‘Ghost’, and then I finally arrive at my re-read of ‘The Autopsy’. The tales have been very odd, the style at times feeling a bit over-dressed. But this has been a unique experience. Traces of Ray Bradbury and Ramsey Campbell both, and very unsettling. Nails-to-chalkboard effect, at times.

I was going to re-read 'The Autopsy' first, but I have decided to creep up on it, and read the stories in the order presented. I just read 'The Horror on the #33', and 'Salome'. Themes of masks, transformations, the displaced and confused self, and revenge stirred into justice.

Not long ago, I told my friend that ‘The Autopsy’ by Michael Shea was my favorite short Horror tale. He tried to chase down the famous anthology I originally discovered it in, but it seems it’s out of print. So he ordered this, and has lent it to me. I want to get it back to him soon, so I can’t be dipping into it between novels. This will be my 3rd read of ‘The Autopsy’…plus stories I’ve never read before!
