I finished the first novella in this edition. I really enjoyed the beginning but my interest waned when the perspective shifted to the other characters. I also didn't like how Jackara was portrayed as this child-like vessel in the end - I liked the nuances she had in the beginning. I might give the next novella a chance later.

This has turned into a revenge tale. Quite the opposite approach to telling the story of a rogue healer.
