Definitely enjoying it more now, but every time they mention how obsessed Lauren is with 'In her Defense' and Piper and how she's writing smutty fanfics about her character, I'm cringing so hard. Like please it's so unnecessary and weird.

It breaks my heart to say this, but this is super cringe.
The whole Fanclub thing and them being obsessed with Piper is just so incredibly weird, especially after reading about piper and her love story.
And the instant attraction is taking me out too - It isn't unusual for the authors books but didn't really have an issue with that in her other books.
I'm praying it'll pick up.
