it’s starting to get a little repetitive. don’t get me wrong, i think there are some good nuggets of insights and lessons in this chapter, just that, it gets lost in the different things the author wishes to touch on. good points, but sometimes borders on shallow or surface level. like im craving for even more depth.

weakest and messiest chapter thus far. i understand what they’re trying to get to with anxiety, but again, the perspectives felt too all over the place. i fear the best parts of this chapter were the ones referencing other writings/works.

jumping from the author’s own experience to attachment styles to the implications of the current economic and environmental state of the world on our anxieties… im dizzy

the concept of anger as a vital breath, and looking at our emotions as something that we experience and feel, not something that embodies us, are such great ways of thinking. are they obvious ? yes but oh how they’re so easily forgotten.

i appreciate reframing anger as a necessary emotion that we MUST sit with, not rise above. it contrasts the societal villainization of anger which, i think, does a lot of harm

i’m a little worried about how i’m going to like/rate this book. kinda not what i expected going into it? as much as i feel empathetic with the author’s experience and compelled by lessons and philosophies they have alluded to delving into, i am left … wanting more ? first chapter feels too jumpy between diff ideas. i appreciate the diff angles theyre attempting to take, but i just need some more weaving.
