Status Updates From Saving Her Highland Traitor...

Release day is Tuesday! I am so excited for everyone to meet Teague and Mila. I feel like I'm introducing a pair of my best friends to the world.

“I will do anything for ye, m’lady,” Teague whispered. He leaned forward and sealed the vow with a tender kiss across the soft fullness of her lips. “Anything ye wish.”

A light tap on the door ended the moment.

“A mhic an Diabhail,” he muttered.

Mila laughed. “O son of the Devil?”

“I couldha said worse.” He rose to his feet and offered a gallant bow. “The presence of my lady love demanded I curb my tongue.”

“I dinna understand why ye feel ye must carry this burden alone.”

“Because it is my burden to carry. No one else’s.”

“I willna rest until ye tell me, so I might help ye. Ye understand that, aye?”

She sniffed, wiped her eyes again, then gifted him another sad smile. “Then ye shall grow verra weary.”

Mila closed her eyes, hating the revelation. The kind, generous, charming Teague would die in a matter of months in a very horrible way.

But even wetter than a drowned rat and muddier than a peat cutter, she had captured the attention of his men as soon as they laid eyes on her. Himself too. But this one would take careful wooing, if she allowed wooing at all. Her leeriness bespoke of ill-treatment in her past. That thought made him clench his teeth in disgust.

Even though he knew she wouldn’t wish it, he could stay back no longer. He went to her and knelt at her side. “Let me help ye,” he said with tender quietness. “Please.”

She stared at him with such a woeful expression he ached to gather her into his arms. But he stopped himself, sensing she would not wish it.

“Ye canna help me,” she whispered. “No one can.”

Mila wanted a new beginning for her and her godson Robbie. But never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that new beginning would be with a man three hundred years in the past. But that's not all. Teague MacDonald doesn't know it yet, but the history books say he's executed in a month--unless Mila and Robbie can change the events they know will happen.
