Status Updates From End of Innocence

Why is this book so long? There’s no reason it needed to be a SuperRomance—it’s the same plot as a hundred other ‘English rose falls for Spanish aristo’ HPs from this era, yet twice the page count.

Of course, the heroine isn’t any better. She’s oblivious as to why Miguel’s family is concerned that he decided to marry a girl they perceive as a ‘bullfighter groupie’ (she’s actually a photojournalist) after only knowing each other for a month, makes no effort to culturally assimilate, & does nothing but splutter indignantly over & over with affronted “how dare you” or “you…you…” 🙄

Dude is pushy, overbearing, rude, & continually insulting to her lineage, looks, & sexual experience (or lack thereof). So of course he makes her horny. 🙄 What a creep. This guy’s not alpha—he’s just a dick.

….Strike one: incidental Spanish dude named Paco. Strike two: the toss of her tawny head. 😑 This book is swinging & missing like a nervous rookie.

Another of my fave Will Davies covers. Gorgeous. 🤍🩶 Too bad the book will probably stink.
