DNF'D. Wild amount of racism out of nowhere and constantly talking about black/brown people, especially when it had absolutely no bearing on the plot. I need to double check but I remember a line where Alex is literally thinking racist shit and then justifies it by saying stereotypes are there for a reason? Couldnt get past it. Trying to be Harry Dresden but missed the mark.

The story has been fun, the writing has been tough to slog through. I probably won't read another Alex Cheradon mystery after I finish this one.

The growing cast of characters involved in the case had me worried. However, instead of detracting from the enjoyment, they enhance the forward motion of the story.
