From my shelves and opened it up to January. This is personal notes, about nature happening around her during the year. The notes are from her home in British countryside.
It opens with a poem from M. Bell 'Old Year Leaves (1883)' with sketchings of leaves on the opposite page.
Jan. 1. New Year's Day. Bright and cold with hard frost. Not a daily diary but her own handwriting of her sights of the day.
